OOTD: Enough Flair
Well, this one day, I was sorting out my accessories and devastated by the state of neglect that had fallen upon the majority of them, I resolved to wear more accessories this year.
Here is a start.
Sometimes my boss cracks me up. He walked over to my desk that morning to say hello and stopped short in his track, awestruck by my accessories. No, he wasn't impressed by these beauties, he was amazed by the number of them. The first thing he asked when he composed himself was "
Did you feel that you put on enough brooches today? Doesn't it bother you that you have to get up in the morning and you have to put on a bunch of pieces of flair?" which caused me to promptly burst out into laughter.
For those who are familiar with
Office Space, you may have remembered the actors and actresses with many buttons pinned on them, the more buttons, the more flair.
Looks like I still don't have enough flair on me.

amazing! totally love how you've taken a plain black shirt dress and made it completely your own! x
I love the little bow and the chilli pepper! Oh and I remember the movie :D Another person who I saw wearing many badges was Tina Fey in "Mean Girls" -- there is one particular moment when she comes to a shop where two of her students work and she has on a waistcoat full of badges :D
Morgaine: This dress was a birthday present! I didn't see that much promise till recently!
Meg: Funny you should have mentioned "Mean Girls" because I just re-watched it like a few days ago so I totally remembered the scene!
you look so pretty sweetheart! I love how you accessorized the dress. Can I feature you pretty please? <3
Ow so lovely :D I like much accessories and I think the chilly pepper rockz :D
Love the brooches! So cute and playful!
I really love the way you've combined your brooches- they make your outfit so fun! The little red bow is my favorite :)
I loved Office Space and I love your flare! Way to go!
You look really cute! Great dress.
For some reason, your blog is loading off of my monitor screen, so I can't read most of it, just view your pictures! :(

Love your flair!
Love it so cute! And in regard to flair i used to work at a bookstore when i was 19 and we were required a minimum of 3 pieces of flair on our ugly green aprons at all times. My boss really didn't appreciate it when my flair collection included a button that said "I don't know why I work here" lol!

Very very cute thing to say. I'd have burst out laughing too!
You look so cute in this and I'm loving the buttons. LOL on office space.
Perfect with the red touch , brooches are so cute on the dress.
Hehe, I love the pepper button! I've seen Office Space before but I don't remember it all. Alls I know is you look very cute and can totally rock those buttons!
Thanks for your comment on my "10 reasons why I unsubscribed from your style/fashion blog" post! I miss the old days of blogging too! Making money from blogging was unheard of, so everyone and their brother didn't try to do so, you know? It was just pure blogging...and I miss it! I've been blogging for about 8 years now, and some of the evolution in the blogosphere has been for the better, but a lot of it is negative, too!
ha! I love the Office Space reference! Priceless! I just adore that movie. And, your "pieces of flare" are so flavorful and flare-able. I love them all but the red lightening bolt shaped broach may take the cake for me! So neat!
The flair rules, too cute!

I love brooches & badges, I never wear them enough though. Maybe I should add that to my fashion goals in 2011!!
Thank you for referencing flair. You've just made my morning, you and your flair. Thanks for visiting my blog and your "beautiful clothes... beautiful life, beautiful shoes... beautiful places" theory is simply wonderful.

This is a great idea to cluster them altogether!
I too have a great neglected collection of pretty little jewelry I'm trying to wear more often!
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and giving me that info about the hat! I had been searching online for more info but wasn't having much luck. You were way more helpful than an online search engine. :)
I love the movie Office Space! And those are some really cute pins you've got! My favorite is the lightning bolt. I feel like I'm lacking in accessories lately so I'm forcing myself to wear them.
hehe--cute chili pepper! :D

Aww :/ What are the popular lotion shops where you live then? (I'm guessing Singapore since it says in your sidebar!) I feel so guilty buying expensive perfumes :x
PS - I like your red belt :D
I gave you a Stylish Blogger Award today- hope you'll check it out! :)

i love all your brooches there adorable!
Kristin: I tweaked the blog a little, is it okay on your monitor now?
Stiletto: I hope you still keep that piece of flare because it is hilarious!
Natalie: Don't know how to wear the brooches? Wear them all at once!
Hannah from "An Old Story": I'm glad to be of help. I am interested in the different eras but the only one I can recognize properly are 1920s, 1980s and maybe a little of 1970s.
Amaris: We have The Body Shop, Sephora, Crabtree & Evelyn, Marks & Spencer and I can't think of anything else!
Thanks everyone else for sharing my flair/flare! :)
